As of recent times, the dreaded MOT inspection for the family car has a new feature - the test results are recorded on computer, and sent to the ministry. Though this may not worry too many people, there are those it should. I refer, of course, to those who prefer to "economise" on their driving by somewhat dubious means. For them, it's the end of the road (and most probably, their car); the standard vehicle check now showing if the car is holding a current MOT certificate or not.

Along with the earlier measures taken against illegal vehicles failing to display a valid road fund license, this is the end of the dodgy MOT, and as without MOT you cannot tax a vehicle, it won't be long before impouding and crushing begins in earnest.

So here is a little advice for those who economise - DO NOT! It just simply won't be worth it, and you may end up without your vehicle to boot.
